The #1 Kimberly Bulldogs showcased their championship pedigree with a convincing 12-1 victory over #5 Teton in the 4A Idaho State Softball Championship quarterfinals, moving one step closer to their title aspirations.

Kimberly’s dynamic offense was on full display as they jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning on consecutive RBI hits from Emma Chavez, Madi Trappen, and Hope Ward. The Bulldogs maintained control throughout before erupting for a decisive six-run sixth inning that put the game well out of reach.

Mallory Kelsey was brilliant in the circle for Kimberly, allowing just one unearned run on five hits over six complete innings while striking out three and not issuing a single walk. Her efficiency and command kept Teton’s offense at bay throughout the contest.

Emma Chavez and Madi Trappen formed a devastating offensive duo at the top of Kimberly’s lineup, with each player driving in three runs to lead the attack. The Bulldogs’ sixth-inning explosion featured Mallory Kelsey’s RBI single, a two-run single from Chavez, Hope Ward’s sacrifice fly, and Avery Beard’s two-run double that effectively ended the game.

Kimberly’s 11-hit performance was complemented by solid defense, including a key double play that helped maintain momentum. The Bulldogs also capitalized on several Teton errors, as only four of their 12 runs were earned.

Calli Wombacher drove in Teton’s lone run, going 1-for-2 at the plate. Teton collected five hits in the loss, with Jimmi Williamson, Gracie Kincaid, Kara Webster, Kapri Eiden, and Wombacher each recording one hit. Kincaid took the loss after allowing 12 runs (only four earned) over 5⅔ innings.

With the victory, Kimberly advances to the semifinals where they‘ll play Cole Valley, while Teton drops to the consolation bracket to face Timberlake in an elimination game.
