Who we're looking for

You don't need a press pass to start.

If you love Idaho high school sports and can tell the story of a game clearly and fairly, we want to hear from you. Experience helps — but hustle, accuracy and caring about the athletes matter more.

  • Student journalists and yearbook / school-paper writers
  • Parents and fans who are already at every game
  • Former athletes and coaches who know the sport
  • Local reporters and freelancers who want more reach
  • Anyone in Idaho who can write a clear, fair game recap

FAQ

Questions, answered

Do contributors get paid?

Some contributor roles are paid. We'll talk details if it's a fit — every writer gets a byline, an author page and published clips either way.

I'm a student. Can I apply?

Yes — students are welcome. High school and college writers are exactly who we want to hear from. Great coverage matters more than experience.

How much time does it take?

It's flexible. Write one story a season or one a week — you choose which games you cover and how often.

Do I need writing samples?

They help, but they aren't required. A school paper story, a blog post or even a class assignment is fine. If you don't have any, tell us why you'd be good at it.

What do you cover?

Idaho high school sports — football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball, softball, wrestling, track and more — with a focus on the Treasure Valley and surrounding areas.

I also take photos. Is that a separate program?

Yes. Photographers sell game photos through the FLOWW photographer portal. You can do both — if you're approved as a photographer too, your stories also show on your photographer profile.

Every game has a story.

Help us tell it. Applications take about ten minutes.
