2026 IHSAA State Soccer brackets set: Sugar-Salem girls and boys and Rocky Mountain boys in action

Quarterfinals Thursday, semifinals Friday, championships Saturday. Every bracket, every matchup, and the SRV storylines as Idaho crowns six soccer champions Oct. 22–24.

Forty-eight teams. Six brackets. Three days. The 2026 Idaho state soccer tournaments run Thursday, Oct. 22 through Saturday, Oct. 24, with quarterfinals Thursday, semifinals Friday, and six championship games Saturday across three host regions — Idaho Falls for 6A, Sandpoint for 5A, and the Magic Valley (Burley/Twin Falls) for 4A. Every matchup is win-or-go-home, and every bracket has a storyline worth following. Here’s the complete preview, bracket by bracket.

The format: 8-team single elimination in each classification. Quarterfinals Thursday, semifinals Friday, finals Saturday. The higher MaxPreps-ranked team is the home team (dark jerseys). Tied games go to two 10-minute sudden-victory overtime periods, then penalty kicks. Tickets are sold through GoFan. One programming note: NFHS Network holds exclusive video rights to IHSAA state tournament events, so FLOWW’s coverage is editorial — previews, scores, and stories, not video.

The FLOWW angle: four Snake River Valley Conference teams made the 4A fields — and that’s our home turf. On the boys’ side, #5 Fruitland (which won the SRV district final over McCall-Donnelly on Tuesday, Oct. 13) and #6 McCall-Donnelly are both in. On the girls’ side, #2 Fruitland and #5 McCall-Donnelly carry the SRV banner. Emmett, Weiser, and Parma didn’t qualify on either side. The road to a 4A title runs through Burley and Twin Falls — and the SRV is bringing four teams to it.

6A Boys — Hillcrest HS, Idaho Falls

Seeds: 1 Coeur d’Alene, 2 Mountain View, 3 Boise, 4 Timberline, 5 Rocky Mountain, 6 Eagle, 7 Thunder Ridge, 8 Highland.

Quarterfinals — Thursday, Oct. 22:

  • #2 Mountain View vs. #7 Thunder Ridge — 9:00 AM
  • #3 Boise vs. #6 Eagle — 11:00 AM
  • #4 Timberline vs. #5 Rocky Mountain — 1:00 PM
  • #1 Coeur d’Alene vs. #8 Highland — 3:00 PM

Semifinals Friday at 1:00 and 3:00 PM. Championship Saturday at 3:00 PM.

Storylines:

  • A new champion is guaranteed. Defending champion Caldwell dropped to 5A this year, so 6A crowns someone new. Is it #1 seed Coeur d’Alene’s to lose — or does #3 Boise, last year’s runner-up, finish the job?
  • District rivalry rematch. #4 Timberline vs. #5 Rocky Mountain at 1:00 PM is an SIC grudge match with a semifinal on the line — the most heated quarterfinal in the bracket.
  • Crosstown, loser goes home. #3 Boise vs. #6 Eagle at 11:00 AM — rivals, one survives Thursday.

5A Boys — Sandpoint (Field of Dreams 1 / War Memorial Stadium)

Seeds: 1 Sandpoint, 2 Wood River, 3 Caldwell, 4 Jerome, 5 Idaho Falls, 6 Vallivue, 7 Columbia, 8 Century.

Quarterfinals — Thursday, Oct. 22 (all at Field of Dreams 1):

  • #2 Wood River vs. #7 Columbia — 9:00 AM
  • #3 Caldwell vs. #6 Vallivue — 11:00 AM
  • #4 Jerome vs. #5 Idaho Falls — 1:00 PM
  • #1 Sandpoint vs. #8 Century — 3:00 PM

Semifinals Friday at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM at War Memorial Stadium. Championship Saturday at 4:00 PM at War Memorial.

Storylines:

  • Two teams with something to prove. #3 Caldwell (the defending 6A champion, now in 5A) meets #6 Vallivue (last year’s 5A runner-up) at 11:00 AM — both feel the title should already be theirs.
  • The defending 5A champ’s road. #2 Wood River opens against Columbia, with a semifinal date looming.
  • Home turf for the top seed. #1 Sandpoint plays on its home fields — does the local crowd matter in a neutral-site event?

4A Boys — Burley HS

Seeds: 1 Teton, 2 Sugar-Salem, 3 Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy, 4 Sun Valley Community School, 5 Fruitland, 6 McCall-Donnelly, 7 Wendell, 8 American Falls.

Quarterfinals — Thursday, Oct. 22:

  • #2 Sugar-Salem vs. #7 Wendell — 9:00 AM
  • #3 Coeur d’Alene Charter vs. #6 McCall-Donnelly — 11:00 AM
  • #4 Sun Valley Community vs. #5 Fruitland — 1:00 PM
  • #1 Teton vs. #8 American Falls — 3:00 PM

Semifinals Friday at 1:00 and 3:00 PM. Championship Saturday at 3:00 PM.

Storylines:

  • A final rematch in the quarterfinals. #3 CDA Charter (defending champion) vs. #6 McCall-Donnelly (last year’s runner-up, 1-0) — last year’s title game, replayed Thursday at 11:00 AM. Someone’s revenge tour ends immediately.
  • The SRV storyline. #5 Fruitland (SRV district champs) vs. #4 Sun Valley Community at 1:00 PM — can the Grizzlies turn a district title into a semifinal run? And #6 McCall-Donnelly gets its rematch with the team that just beat it for the district crown.
  • The top seed’s opener. #1 Teton vs. #8 American Falls starts the bracket at 3:00 PM.

6A Girls — Bonneville HS, Idaho Falls

Seeds: 1 Timberline, 2 Lake City, 3 Owyhee, 4 Middleton, 5 Coeur d’Alene, 6 Boise, 7 Eagle, 8 Highland.

Quarterfinals — Thursday, Oct. 22:

  • #2 Lake City vs. #7 Eagle — 9:00 AM
  • #3 Owyhee vs. #6 Boise — 11:00 AM
  • #4 Middleton vs. #5 Coeur d’Alene — 1:00 PM
  • #1 Timberline vs. #8 Highland — 3:00 PM

Semifinals Friday at 1:00 and 3:00 PM. Championship Saturday at 5:30 PM at Hillcrest HS.

Storylines:

  • The defending champ’s defense begins. #1 Timberline opens against #8 Highland — the Wolves are the team everyone’s chasing.
  • SIC powers collide. #3 Owyhee vs. #6 Boise at 11:00 AM — two conference heavyweights, one goes home Thursday.
  • The most even quarterfinal. #4 Middleton vs. #5 Coeur d’Alene is a coin flip on paper — the 1:00 PM game to watch.

5A Girls — Sandpoint (Field of Dreams 2 / War Memorial Stadium)

Seeds: 1 Twin Falls, 2 Hillcrest, 3 Wood River, 4 Skyline, 5 Moscow, 6 Pocatello, 7 Sandpoint, 8 Vallivue.

Quarterfinals — Thursday, Oct. 22 (all at Field of Dreams 2):

  • #2 Hillcrest vs. #7 Sandpoint — 9:30 AM
  • #3 Wood River vs. #6 Pocatello — 11:30 AM
  • #4 Skyline vs. #5 Moscow — 1:30 PM
  • #1 Twin Falls vs. #8 Vallivue — 3:30 PM

Semifinals Friday at 3:00 and 5:00 PM at War Memorial Stadium. Championship Saturday at 6:30 PM at War Memorial.

Storylines:

  • The toughest title defense in any bracket. Defending champion Moscow drew the #5 seed and gets #4 Skyline in the quarterfinal — no easy road to a repeat.
  • Top seed’s test. #1 Twin Falls earned the top seed — now they have to hold it, starting with #8 Vallivue.
  • Hosts vs. contenders. #2 Hillcrest vs. #7 Sandpoint opens the day at 9:30 AM with the home crowd behind the underdog.

4A Girls — Twin Falls HS

Seeds: 1 Sugar-Salem, 2 Fruitland, 3 Kimberly, 4 Marsh Valley, 5 McCall-Donnelly, 6 Teton, 7 Timberlake, 8 Preston.

Quarterfinals — Thursday, Oct. 22:

  • #2 Fruitland vs. #7 Timberlake — 9:00 AM
  • #3 Kimberly vs. #6 Teton — 11:00 AM
  • #4 Marsh Valley vs. #5 McCall-Donnelly — 1:00 PM
  • #1 Sugar-Salem vs. #8 Preston — 3:00 PM

Semifinals Friday at 1:00 and 3:00 PM. Championship Saturday at 5:30 PM at Burley HS.

Storylines:

  • The three-peat chase. #1 Sugar-Salem (defending champion) opens against #8 Preston — two more wins from three straight titles.
  • The SRV’s best title shot. #2 Fruitland vs. #7 Timberlake at 9:00 AM — the Grizzlies are the highest-seeded SRV team in either 4A bracket.
  • Rematch of last year’s finalists? #4 Marsh Valley (last year’s runner-up, fell 4-0 to Sugar-Salem) vs. #5 McCall-Donnelly — an SRV rivalry game with a semifinal berth at stake.

What we’re watching

By Saturday night, Idaho has six new (or repeat) soccer champions. The questions that matter: does anyone stop Sugar-Salem’s girls from a three-peat? Who survives the 6A boys’ wide-open field now that Caldwell’s gone? Can the SRV’s four 4A qualifiers turn district success into semifinal weekend? And in how many brackets does the #1 seed actually hold? We’ll track every result here as the tournaments play out — quarterfinals Thursday, semifinals Friday, championships Saturday.
