
#4 Payette Pirates shock #2 Cole Valley 6-2 in EXTRA INNINGS to stay alive in the 4A SRV District Tournament!

The Pirates (now 13-10) showed incredible resilience in Tuesday’s elimination game, taking down the heavily favored Chargers (21-5) with a dramatic 8th inning explosion! Cole Valley is now eliminated from the tournament and will await a possible at-large bid to Regionals.
𝐆𝐀𝐌𝐄 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐃𝐎𝐖𝐍:
Cole Valley struck first in the fourth inning on Eli Hamby’s RBI single. Payette answered in the fifth, scoring on a wild pitch to tie the game at 1-1.
The game remained deadlocked until the EIGHTH INNING when Payette’s offense erupted for FIVE RUNS on three hits, including Jayden Barrera’s clutch two-run double that broke the game open!
𝐏𝐀𝐘𝐄𝐓𝐓𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐒:
- Jahzyon Sylva: 3-for-4 at the plate from the leadoff spot
- Jayden Barrera: 2-for-4, team-leading 2 RBIs, game-changing double in the 8th
- Darrien Pecunia: 2-for-4
- 7 total hits in the upset victory

- 10 total hits (offense couldn’t capitalize)
- Cole Morgan, Lucas Guray, and Chris Bobrowski: 2 hits each
- Eli Hamby and Carson Kile: 1 RBI each
- 5 stolen bases (Morgan with 2)

- Carson Kile (Cole Valley): 7⅓ innings, 7 hits, 6 runs (only 2 earned), 9 strikeouts, 2 walks
- Gauge (Payette): Closed it out in relief

With this thrilling upset victory, Payette advances to face Homedale (who fell to undefeated Fruitland 3-1) in another elimination game on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Cole Valley’s tournament run ends as they’ll now await news on a possible at-large bid to Regionals.
