
The 2025-26 Snake River Valley Conference basketball season is officially underway, and the McCall-Donnelly Vandals made a statement in their opener with a commanding 18-point victory over the Weiser Wolverines.
Sam Scott was the star of the night, pouring in a game-high 21 points to lead the Vandals. Mike Pellgrin was equally impressive, chipping in 17 points as the duo combined for 38 of McCall’s 54 total points. The Vandals controlled the pace from start to finish, building a comfortable lead and never looking back.
On the other side, Weiser struggled to find consistent scoring but showed some fight. Shayd Crossley led the Wolverines with 11 points, while Grant Walker contributed 10 and Owen Funke added 9. The Wolverines will look to regroup as the season continues.
McCall-Donnelly moves to 1-0 on the young season while Weiser falls to 0-1.
Fruitland cruised past Payette 58-22, and Cole Valley Christian topped Homedale 53-36. That puts Fruitland, Cole Valley, and McCall-Donnelly all at 1-0 to start conference play.
